The suitcase opens in the middle of the room and overflows with colorful print scarves, heart covered stilettos, glittering belts, and an endless array of sweaters.



Out from behind a mound of fishnets and beaded jeans steps a thin little figure,

pulling off a wig of long brown curls and replacing it with a blonde mod cut.



Almost a vision of cute, wide eyed anime, the Japanese paper doll in this story,pulling style from Japan to LA, from designers to DJs, is Ms. Sachiko Mogi, the international fashionista.



Born in 1978 in Ehime Japan, Sachy's love for fashion emerged at an early age.

Walking hand in hand with her sister, Sachy remembers carefully watching the light hearted stiletto steps of her mother as they followed her through the streets of Tokyo and beyond.
Often sneaking into her mother's closet, a young Sachy would spend hours trying on heels and applying makeup, turning an elegant nightgown into her 7th birthday party dress.



In her 1988 move to Gumma, Sachy soaked in the influence of the Pizzicato Five's fashion icon and vocalist Nomiya Maki. A natural student of style, Sachy studied Nomiya and began playing with catchy Barbie doll fashion and cute trendy wigs in her own wardrobe. Around this time Sachy was diagnosed with the rare case of Alopecia Areata, her “my hair falls out & never grows back” syndrome.
While this disease would have caused most girls fits of tears, Sachy took it in stride, proclaiming that she “would be changing it up in hats, scarves and wigs anyway,,,, cuz they’re cute, stylish,,, and so am I!”　These head accessories became her signature,, highlighting her light hearted nature and fashionista elegance, proving her true devotion to style in any situation.



In 1997, Sachy moved across the Pacific Ocean to San Diego, California, leaving her tiny island and opening her eyes to a whole different way of life. Enrolled in Palomar Community College, Sachy met a vast new rainbow of lifestyles, from Latinos to Europeans, Asians, Africans, monks, Rastas, rockers, hippies, hip hop heads, clubbers, goths, vegetarians, ravers, the typical So Cal surfers, hetero, homo & bisexuals; you name it, Sachy met it in her new home.



Early in her stay in southern Cali, Sachy encountered a surprisingly enlightening moment that stayed with her forever. Her second day in the U.S., she went to the beach worried, thinking how she couldn’t possibly take off her hat. The lady she was with looked at her with a wink and said “You don’t care, I don’t care!” This simple phrase stuck, and became the most easy and powerful mantra to Sachy, influencing her in her lifestyle and choices, still to this day.



Several years later, in 2000, Sachy received her Associates Degree in General Studies, then in 2001 her Certification in Fashion Merchandising. No longer a student in the U.S., Sachy spent the next years working at a women’s boutique in the Gaslamp Quarters of downtown San Diego. Here she met and befriended several co- workers, with whom she is still very close with today, that share her passion and love for fashion and eclectic, unique style.



In 2004, Sachy returned to Japan, working as an interpreter (trying out a new field such as IT), as well as working as a clothing store associate. After two years of hard work and savings, Sachy was able to bring her dreams of fashion into reality by founding Fashionista By Sachy in 2006.



While flying back and forth from Japan to LA, to San Diego, Sachy scours the streets and club scenes for the latest in fashion to bring to her devoted Fashionista By Sachy clientel. She builds on her already jam packed contact list of djs, designers, local friends and fashion lovers with tireless energy, eager to meet every one of them. Reaching out in her travels to all walks of life and experiences, she works to expand her vision of art and beauty in the world. All of this, Sachy manages, to do in those same light hearted stiletto steps that her mother would lead her with years ago, never missing a beat.



She is, after all, Ms. Sachiko Mogi, always in style, always unique, always in love with life, always the international fashionista.
